Review Process

Science & Technology Progress and Policy adopts a double-blind peer review process. Before a manuscript enters formal peer review, the editorial office conducts a preliminary editorial screening. The preliminary screening mainly examines the manuscript's relevance to the journal's aims and scope, academic quality, academic integrity, research ethics, and compliance with the journal's submission requirements.

Manuscripts that pass the preliminary screening are sent for peer review. Each manuscript is normally reviewed by at least two independent peer reviewers. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript in terms of topic value, originality, scientific rigor, research methods, logical structure, reliability of data and materials, academic standards, research integrity, and theoretical and practical contributions.

The journal uses a double-blind review model, under which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other during the review process. Based on the peer review reports, the editorial office organizes further assessment and forms a handling recommendation in accordance with the journal's aims and scope, academic standards, and publication requirements.

The final editorial decision is made by the Final Review Committee based on peer review reports, editorial assessment, and the journal's publication arrangements. The final decision is communicated to authors through the online submission system and by email.

The editorial office normally completes the preliminary screening within one or two weeks after receiving a manuscript. Manuscripts that pass preliminary screening enter the peer review stage. The peer review process generally takes about one month. Authors may log in to the submission system to check the manuscript status. For inquiries, authors may contact the editorial office by telephone or through the WeCom customer service channel.
