Abstract Research integrity is the basic principle that scientific research workers should follow, and it is related to the development of a national science and the orderly operation of society. In recent years, due to the frequent occurrence of academic misconduct and research dishonesty, the issue of research integrity has become one of the focus issues in the scientific community. This paper studies the history, manifestation, causes and countermeasures of scientific research honesty, and finds that the problem of scientific research honesty is manifested in various forms and its causes are complex. Accordingly, this paper proposes to adopt the principle of tolerance, strengthen the education of honesty, cultivate peer review culture, explore restrictive peer review system and randomly select representative to restrain the misconduct of scientific research to the greatest extent.
