Abstract Based on the data of 165 samples, the paper examines the impact of the network size on resource acquisition of new ventures, and introduce the prior experience as the moderate variable. The research takes an empirical test and finds that there has an inverted U-shaped relationship between the network size and resource acquisition.Further, the different prior experience will play a different role in the moderating process.Specifically, prior entrepreneurial experience enhances the inverted u-shaped relationship between network size and resource acquisition, while the previous industry experience and previous management experience weaken this relationship. These results provide suggestions to managing social network and developing the prior experience of the entrepreneurs.
