Performance Evaluation and Its Spatio-temporal Differences of Ecological Innovation in China's Capital Cities |

Abstract provincial capital cities play an important role in leading the construction of modern innovative ecological cities and realizing regional ecological innovation strategies.However, there is a lack of relevant research on the performance evaluation of ecological innovation in provincial capital cities.Based on the implementation background of innovation-driven development strategy, the panel data of 29 provincial capitals in China from 2013 to 2018 are selected, and the DEA-SBM model is used to analyze the ecological innovation performance and its spatial and temporal differences of provincial capitals in China.The results showed that:①under the time dimension, the ecological innovation performance level of provincial capitals in the whole country and three major regions is low, and the irregular volatility is strong, the ecological innovation performance of most cities in the eastern region is always at the level of "high output and high efficiency ", while most cities in the central and western regions continue to be at the level of" low output and low efficiency "; ② under the spatial dimension, the ecological innovation performance level of provincial capitals in the whole country and three major regions is significantly different, and presents a polarization trend, and the spatial agglomeration of ecological innovation performance level of provincial capitals is significant.In summary, the ecological innovation and development of the provincial capitals in China is not balanced, so the relevant policy suggestions are put forward from the regional and national levels.
