The Economic Growth Effect of the High-tech Manufacturing Industry and High-Tech Service Industry Co-Agglomeration |

Abstract Based on the provincial panel data in China, this paper apply the spatial panel model and the panel threshold model to explore the economic growth effect of high-tech manufacturing clustering and high-tech service clustering. The results show that there are significant differences in industrial agglomeration characteristics between regions. High-synergy agglomerations are mainly concentrated in the eastern coastal areas, and low-synergy agglomerations are mainly concentrated in the west. The level of economic growth, thelevel of coordinated agglomeration of high-tech manufacturing and high-tech service industries have a significant spatial positive correlation, and the coordinated agglomeration of the two helps to promote regional economic growth. There are double thresholds for the economic growth effect of coordinated agglomeration. When the agglomeration degree of high-tech manufacturing and high-tech service industry are between the first and second thresholds, the economic growth effect of industrial agglomeration is the best. Only a small number of provinces are between the first and second thresholds for the concentration of two industries, which can effectively play a role in promoting economic growth by coordinated agglomeration.
