Abstract This paper uses the provincial panel data of China from 2005 to 2017 to study the effect of entrepreneurship and regional economic growth by establishing a spatial Dubin model based on different spatial weight matrices.The results show that the level of regional economy in China presents a significant spatial auto-correlation; The improvement of the quality of opportunistic entrepreneurship has a significant pulling effect on regional economic growth,which will promote economic growth within the region and adjacent areas of entrepreneurship,but may inhibit economic growth between geographically adjacent regions; demand-based entrepreneurship,to some extent,will restrict regional economic development and may inhibit economic growth within the region,but it will promote economic growth between geographically adjacent regions; Among the control variables,the human capital has the strongest promotion effect on economic growth and the largest spillover effect.
