Abstract In the entrepreneurial practice of university spin-off companies (USOs),lacking of cooperation tacit understanding has become an important obstacle to the industrial network embeddedness.In response to this problem,this paper adopts a new perspective of network routines.Starting from the heterogeneity brought by the academic creation background of USOs,we build the research model of “academic imprints - network routines - industrial network embeddedness”,and test the moderating effects of technological turbulence.The proposed theoretical hypotheses' model was empirical tested by means of a questionnaire survey conducted on 379 USOs and multiple linear regression.The results indicate that,the academic imprints of USOs have a positive effect on the establishment of network routines.At the same time,in the process of embedding into the industry,network routines have different effects on the two dimensions of industrial network embeddedness.Network routines are inverted U-shape related to structure embeddedness,but have a positive linear effect on relationship embeddedness.The technological turbulence positively moderates the relationship between “academic imprints - network routine establishment - industrial network relationship embeddedness”.
