Abstract Artificial intelligence is booming worldwide and has become a new engine to lead scientific and technological progress.Based on the Derwent Innovation Index database, this paper identifies and analyses the technological opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence from the three dimensions of technology integration, innovation subject and potential market.Through the co-occurrence analysis of technical keywords, this paper studies the current situation of technology integration in the field of artificial intelligence and identifies the core technology in this field; identifies potential technical opponents in the field of artificial intelligence through patent analysis of innovators, and then discovers and expands technological opportunities; and excavates potential market opportunities of artificial intelligence technology through overseas layout analysis of patents of the same family.This study can provide a useful reference for Chinese enterprises and government agencies to make forward-looking layout of AI technology and innovation guidance policy.
