Entrepreneurial Motivation and Entrepreneur's Subjective Well-Being: The Moderating Effect of Social Norm |

Abstract Based on the self-determination theory and goal setting theory,this study explores the mechanism of the entrepreneurial motivation (necessity-motivated entrepreneurship and opportunity-motivated entrepreneurship) on entrepreneurial subjective well-being,and analyses the mediating effect of entrepreneurial efficacy and the moderating effect of social norm through a survey of 16,976 samples covering 69 countries from GEM database in 2013.Results show as follows: entrepreneurial motivation positively affects entrepreneurial efficacy,and then improves the entrepreneur's subjective well-being,social norm weakens the positive relationship between entrepreneurial motivation and subjective well-being.This conclusion provides theoretical and empirical implication for entrepreneurial well-being and "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" strategy upgrade.
