The Relationship between Founder Competency and Entrepreneurial Team Member's Trust under Different Stages of New Venture |

Abstract Based on competence theory and dynamic view of entrepreneurship, the paper examines the differential effects of founder competency on entrepreneurial team member's cognition and affect based trust, as well as its time phased characteristics under different stages of new venture. The results indicate that entrepreneurial competency and managerial competency has positive effect on members' cognition based trust, social competency shows positive influence on members' affect based trust. In addition, with the development of new venture from start up stage to growth stage, the influential effect of entrepreneurial competency on members' cognition based trust has decreased slightly, while the influence of managerial competency on members' cognition based trust had advanced. The finds have implications for dynamic management about internal relation mechanism of entrepreneurial team.
