The Interaction and Spatial Spillover between High-tech Industrial Agglomeration and Innovation Performance:Research on Spatial Simultaneous Equation based on Innovation Value Chain |

Abstract According to the innovation value chain theory, the process of innovation can be divided into two stages: technology development and achievement transformation. Based on the panel data of 30 provinces and cities in China from 2005 to 2018, the paper analyses the interaction and spatial spillover between high-tech industrial agglomeration and innovation performance with establishing spatial simultaneous equation model. Empirical results show that: Overall, there are the mutual promoting effect and positive spillover effect between high-tech industrial agglomeration and innovation performance in the two stages of innovation. Their spatial interaction effect show heterogeneity for different stages.That is, the effect of high-tech industrial agglomeration in adjacent areas on local innovation performance is positive in the technology development stage, and is not significant in the achievement transformation stage, and the effect of innovation performance in adjacent areas on local high-tech industrial agglomeration is negative in the two stages of innovation.In terms of time interval, the mutual promoting effect and spatial spillover effect between high-tech industrial agglomeration and innovation performance are weakened over time, and the regional interaction effect is enhanced over time. In addition, the spatial spillover effect is different at two stages of innovation.
