Collaborative Evolution of Big Data Application and Enterprise Open Innovation:Comparative Case Study based on Grounded Theory |

Abstract Most of the existing studies focus on verifying the driving effect of big data and artificial intelligence on enterprise innovation, but lack of theoretical discussion on the correlation between big data application and enterprise open innovation.Based on the research perspective of collaborative evolution, through the comparative study of seven enterprise cases in manufacturing and service industry, Nvivo12 software was used to conduct the rooted theory coding analysis.The research found that:firstly, there is a close bidirectional correlation between big data application and open innovation of enterprises.Secondly, due to differences in industry attributes and enterprise resource capabilities, there are two modes in the collaborative evolution process of big data application and enterprise open innovation, namely data-driven collaborative evolution and innovation-driven collaborative evolution.Data-driven co-evolution usually takes place in manufacturing enterprises.Innovation-driven collaborative evolution is mostly seen in service enterprises.
