Research on the Influence Mechanism of Employee Entrepreneurship on Performance |

Abstract In the current research on the relationship between entrepreneurship and performance, the research on the influence mechanism of individual level employee entrepreneurship on their performance, especially how employees self-regulation to achieve this goal in the work is still in the ascendant.Based on the perspective of regulating focus, this study regards prevention focus and promotion focus as two mediating paths of employee entrepreneurship on task performance and innovation performance.Through two-stage paired data analysis of 521 employees in a Chinese top 500 enterprise, the results show that the positive influence of employee entrepreneurship on task performance and innovation performance is not binary opposition.Employee entrepreneurship is a positive antecedent variable of prevention focus and promotion focus.In addition, prevention focus and promotion focus respectively mediate the relationship between employee entrepreneurship, task performance and innovation performance.
