| The Influence Mechanism and Empirical Study of Environmental Regulation on the Green Transformation of Manufacturing Industry |

Abstract This paper expounds the direct and indirect influence mechanism of environmental regulation on the green transformation of manufacturing industry.Using the Chinese provincial panel data from 2005 to 2017,the green total factor productivity calculated based on EBM-GML model is used to measure the degree of green transformation of Chinese manufacturing industry,and then a fixed effect panel model is established to test the impact of heterogeneous environmental regulation on the green transformation of manufacturing industry.The results show as follows: environmental regulation has a non-linear effect on the green transformation of manufacturing industry,and command-controlled and voluntary participation environmental regulation can promote the process of green transformation of manufacturing industry when they exceed a certain limit.Environmental regulation can promote the green transformation of manufacturing industry through technological innovation,foreign direct investment and industrial structure,but the effect of industrial agglomeration is not obvious.Market incentive environmental regulation can better affect the green transformation of manufacturing industry through indirect effects.
