Network Strength, Organizational Slack and Innovation Model |

Abstract Through the social network enterprises can achieve resource slack and thus have an impact on the choice of innovation, this mechanism has become an important path for the sustainable development of enterprises, but that what kind of network, and which slack for what type of innovation is topic still need to explore. This paper makes an empirical test on the network strength, different types of organizational slack and two kinds of innovation models by using the data from the survey of about 200 companies. The results found that network strength has a significantly positive and direct influence on exploratory as well as exploitative innovation; and also through positively influencing unabsorbed slack has an indirect effect on both kinds of innovation. Unabsorbed slack exhibits a significantly positive influence on innovation. But no significantly positive effects have been tested with absorbed slack in the path road paradigms, which may be affected by the factors or conditions of the enterprise itself. Finally, according to the conclusions of this study, three important management implications are put forward.
