Abstract This paper discusses the impact of industrial convergence on the innovation efficiency of China's equipment manufacturing industry from both theoretical and empirical aspects,as well as the regulating effect of network centrality and network heterogeneity on the relationship between them.Based on the panel data of 7 subindustries of interprovincial equipment manufacturing from 2006 to 2015,ISCNFI index measurement model and beyond logarithmic frontier analysis method based on output distance function were used to measure the change of industrial integration degree and innovation efficiency of the equipment manufacturing industry respectively,and then the panel regression model was used to test the theoretical hypothesis.The empirical results show that there is an inverted ushaped relationship between the degree of industrial integration and the innovation efficiency of China's equipment manufacturing industry.Network centrality strengthens the role of industrial convergence in improving the innovation efficiency of equipment manufacturing industry,while network heterogeneity weakens the role of industrial convergence in improving the innovation efficiency of equipment manufacturing industry.
