Abstract In this article, the modularity concept is firstly introduced to analyze the theoretical connotation of the collaboration innovation. A collaboration innovation network model featuring useroriented is presented, in which the management of networking resources is discussed from an ecology perspective, in this regard above network is evolving into a selforganizing collaborative innovation ecological cycle featuring enterprise as core and networking resources dynamic optimization. Moving forward, an exploratory case regarding Haier's T series air conditioning case is systematically analyzed, in which the practices relating to the modularitybased collaborative innovation to push forward their product innovation and technology upgrading is discussed. Finally, some micromechanisms in above case for the management of networking resources are also introduced. The outcome of this paper presented could be of reference to China enterprises during their exploration in product modularity, and will also be beneficial for their construction of modularitybased collaborative innovation network combining the management for networking resources under internet age.
