The Social Network Characteristics and Growth of New Venture: The Moderating Effect of Relationship Quality |

Abstract Based on the investigation and study of 202 new ventures in Hefei hightech industry development zone, this paper explores the moderating effect of relationship quality on the relationships between the startup social network characteristics and growth performance by using the method of multiple regression analysis. The results show that: the three dimensions of the social network characteristics(network size, network heterogeneity and network strength) have a positive influence on the growth performance, the effect of network strength is positively correlated with the performance, secondly, is the effect of network size , the effect of network heterogeneity is weakest. There are positive relationships between the relationship quality and growth performance. The relationship quality plays a positive moderating role in the relationship between social network characteristics and growth performance.
