Abstract The National Science Foundation set up the science of science and innovation policy program (SciSIP) in 2006. SciSIP has made important progress in the data and method research and community construction after ten years. This paper focused on SciSIP and its results in the past years, summarized the process of SciSIP, analyzed the research results and challenges of SciSIP, and provided some suggestions for the development of the science policy research and the discipline construction of "The Science of Science Policy".
