Abstract Open knowledge has the characteristics of multiple sources, openness and valuableness. In order to improve inter-organizational knowledge transfer efficiency in the case of open knowledge importing, this paper combines knowledge management, ecology and other theories, attributes inter-organizational knowledge under open-innovation to two kinds of ecological relationship: knowledge transfer between organizations and the transfer between open knowledge and organizational knowledge, and constructs the relative two kinds of ecological model for knowledge transfer based on improved Lotka-Volterra model. Then the Quantitative analysis and numerical simulation has been made. The results show that: knowledge transfer coefficient, knowledge spillover coefficient, the largest stock of knowledge and other factors have a positive feedback effect on knowledge transfer evolution and equilibrium. Through external learning and absorbing the open knowledge in multi-points by knowledge chain members, building a ecological "mutualism & multi-component habitat" relationship, high-efficient equilibrium of knowledge chain transfer can be achieved and social allocation's efficiency of knowledge resources can be promoted.
