Abstract Factors for industrial development require the carriers such as knowledge network, social network, internet of things and value network. Based on analysis of linkage and integration of the four networks and the relationship between integration and organization of industrial cluster, a new notion total factor network is proposed and its structure and framework are analyzed. Then, the duality of total factor network is studied. For one thing, its virtual image is knowledge sharing and computing network; for another, its real image is distributed network for factor storage. There are relevant and mapping relationship between virtual and real image. Finally, the formation and evolution mechanisms of industrial cluster are analyzed based on virtual or real complement and replacement. These would be important to sustainable development of industrial cluster from total factor network's optimization perspective.
