How Can Knowledge Search and Reconstruction Promote Green Technology Innovation in SRDI Small and Medium-sized Enterprises?The Moderating Roles of Strategic Flexibility and Incentive Environmental Regulation |

Abstract Promoting green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises is an important way to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of small and medium-sized enterprises and achieve high-quality development. SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises have strong innovation capabilities and development resilience;thus, they are able to strike a balance between ecological environment protection and innovative development. Due to the fact that green technology innovation requires professional technology and knowledge from different complementary sources, SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises need to break through organizational boundaries and obtain the necessary innovation resources through knowledge search. Therefore, it is of great theoretical significance and practical value to explore the effect of knowledge search on the green technology innovation of SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises.#br# The existing research mainly analyzes the relationship between knowledge search and green technology innovation, but lacks in-depth analysis of the complex system of green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises. Green technology innovation is the product of internal and external knowledge reconstruction in an open environment, and the change of external environment directly affects the change of innovation ability and green innovation income of SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises, which is related to the strategic flexibility and environmental regulation of SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises to deal with the uncertainty of external environment. Therefore, on the basis of the green innovation strategies of enterprises, this study brings knowledge reconstruction, strategic flexibility and incentive environmental regulation into the same research framework, and discusses the influence mechanism of knowledge search on the green technology innovation of SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises. It further analyzes the mediating role of knowledge reconstruction and the moderating role of strategic flexibility and incentive environmental regulation.#br# This study takes SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises as the research object. On the basis of the data from 272 valid questionnaire surveys, it uses hierarchical regression, bootstrapping, and other data research methods to test the influence mechanism of knowledge search on the green technology innovation of SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises. The results indicate that, firstly, the two dimensions of knowledge search, namely market knowledge search and technical knowledge search, have a significant impact on the green technology innovation of SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises, and technical knowledge search has a stronger incentive effect on green technology innovation. Secondly, knowledge reconstruction plays a partial mediating role between market knowledge search, technical knowledge search, and green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises. Finally, strategic flexibility positively moderates the impact of knowledge search on knowledge reconstruction, and incentive environmental regulation positively moderates the impact of knowledge reconstruction on green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises.#br# 〖HJ*3〗This study expands the related research in three aspects. First, given the complex environment of green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises, this study examines the applicability of the relationship between knowledge search and green technological innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises, which opens the black box of the relationship between knowledge search and green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises, and is helpful to clarify the internal mechanism of the effect of knowledge search on green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises. Secondly, from the perspective of knowledge management, this study reveals the promotion path of knowledge search for green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises, and puts forward the utilization logic of knowledge search—knowledge reconstruction—green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises, which highlights the importance of knowledge management of small and medium-sized enterprises to improve the efficiency of resource utilization and carry out green technology innovation, enriches the research on the mechanism of knowledge reconstruction, and further improves the organizational search theory. Third, this study considers the comprehensive influence of the internal and external environment of green technology innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises, and expands the research content of the regulation mechanism of green technology innovation in SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises, which is helpful to clarify the boundary of realizing green technology innovation through knowledge reconstruction for SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises.#br#
