Digital Transformation Models of Manufacturing Enterprises:from the Perspective of Epigenetic Economic Dynamics |

Abstract Digital transformation is necessary for manufacturing enterprises to catch up the development of information economy. Digital transformation with characters of integrating, jumping and depending on environment seriously, is quite different from conventional transformation and update based on value chain. From the perspective of Epigenetic Economic Dynamic (EED), digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises is a rapidly variation and heredity process, in which enterprises adopt external knowledge and resources. Employing the methodology of metaphor, this paper presents three theoretical models of digital transformation: stable updating, assembled updating and marked updating. These models are illustrated with analysis of three cases. The results of this research are helpful to understand digital innovation process and mechanisms deeply as well as provide enlightenments for practice.
