A Study on Enterprises' Design Innovation Path Based on the Differences of Technology Intensity in the Coming Intelligent Era

Abstract The coming of the intelligent era brings a further gap between products of the technology intensive industry and traditional manufacturing sectors. Based on the differences of enterprises' technology, this paper divides them into two types. And taking the abilities of discovering and expressing design touch points as the main indexes for enterprises' design capability, it constructs a path of "design capability to design performance to company competitiveness" to research on the characters of designs in these two kinds of enterprises. The result shows that, in companies with lower technology intensity, products' forms and CMF play a positive role on companies' competiveness, while the way of using and the number of designers have a negative effect. In higher technology intensity companies, products' function and usage are the most positive factors, and the design funds together with the technology support also play a positive role.
