Abstract The research on quality management and innovation performance has attracted the attention of a large number of scholars,but there is little research in the stage of transformation and upgrading through intelligent manufacturing.In this study,we used sample data from China's shipbuilding industry,in the context of intelligent manufacturing,the quality management practice is divided into two dimensions: basic and core quality management practices,actual absorptive capacity is used as a mediating variable and potential absorptive capacity is used as a moderating variable,to study the impact of quality management practice on innovation performance.The research results show that the positive impact of basic quality management practices and core quality management practices on innovation performance is significant.The actual absorption capacity has a mediating effect on innovation performance between basic quality management practices and core quality management practices,respectively.The potential absorptive capacity has a significant positive regulatory effect between basic quality management practice and innovation performance,but it plays a significant negative regulatory effect between core quality management practice and innovation performance.
