From Management by Values to Institutional Leadership |

Abstract Institutional leadership refers to the leadership in which leaders embed values and leadership power into the organizational system and structure through institutional work after interacting with the institutional context. Leaders tend to reduce the dependence of organizations on individual leadership, and hence realize the steady development of organization. The practice of TECSUN shows that companies usually construct institutional leadership via management by values and institutional management, then realize corporate values, implement institutions, constraint organization stakeholders′ behavior and lead their ideas. This has positive impact on stable and sustainable development of enterprises. TECSUN′s mode is a breakthrough of China business management. This article takes TECSUN′s case as example to explore the process in which leaders construct institutional leadership via management by values and institutional management, and then provides a new theoretical perspective for enterprises to construct institutional leadership.
