Abstract Based on motivated information processing in group theory, this study proposes and empirically testes a multiplestep multiple mediator model between authentic leadership and team creativity from a group information processing perspective. Using survey data from 95 teams, it finds that authentic leadership positively affects team creativity through two group information processes: "team constructive controversy" and "team perspective taking" which forms a multiplestep multiple(chain) mediator model between them. It discusses theoretical and practical implications for authentic leadership and this chain mediator model.
