Abstract This paper explores the impact of specific assets on firm's innovation from perspective of the customer collaborative.we empirically text our model using data from Chinese A share listed firms.we find that the level of specific assets has an inverted Ushaped relationship with firm's R & D investment.As specific assets increases from slight to moderate,firm's R & D investment increases;as specific assets increases from moderate to great, firm's R & D investment declines.Firm's R & D investment and firm's innovation have notable positive correlation.This study contributes to the supply management literature by empirically showing how specific assets affect firm's innovation.These finding also have profound practical implications.
