Abstract Open innovation of an enterprise has a significant impact on the improvement of its innovative performance. On the basis of survey data of manufacturing sector in 2012 ChinaEnterprise Survey from the World Bank, the thesis makes an empirical study on the contributory factors of open innovation. The study shows that:①distributions of open innovation of China's enterprises are uneven in areas and industries; ②some factors have dramatically positive influences on joint research and development, such as competitors, information technology support, data software sharing, product export, product sales area etc; ③some factors have dramatically positive influences on innovation openness of an enterprise, such as work experiences of executives, number of competitors, information technology support, etc.
